Keeping Communities Connected

Keeping Communities Connected

In England, churches have been able to reopen their services for communal worship. Those attending services are required to keep at least 1m away from anyone not from their own household or support bubble, with some churches requiring mandatory face-coverings.

Whilst many churches across England have opened their doors for prayer, many churches are still live-streaming their services on social media for those self-isolating or high-risk.

It has been fantastic to see the contribution our church communities have made to those affected by the coronavirus. St Andrew’s Church in High Wycombe has encouraged people to sign up online to run errands and make phone calls for people in their local community through their website.  Weekly prayer meetings are still being held online for those who still want to pray with others, even if they cannot meet face to face.

St Andrew’s have also started a social group for anyone aged 18-23 with the aim of meeting virtually and then in person for social events over the summer!

Across the UK, activities including church running groups have been able to start up again, encouraging small groups to socially distance exercise together. To find your nearest service or event you can visit the A Church Near You website.
